Splinge Seller
User Documentation

App: Seller · Address: https://seller.splinge.com Version: August 2026

This document covers the Seller app — the front door for becoming a Splinge Seller, connecting a Stripe account so you can get paid, and reaching the seller tools (Record Store Manager, Box Office Manager). For what those two manager apps do once you're inside them, see their own documentation — Box Office Manager has a dedicated guide (Splinge BoxOffice Manager — User Documentation); Record Store Manager doesn't have one yet.

1. What Is Splinge Seller?

Splinge Seller is the account-setup app for anyone who wants to sell on the platform — bands and solo artists, managers, labels, venues, promoters/touring companies, and general retail sellers. It walks you through three things, in order: activating the Seller role on your account, connecting a Stripe account so Splinge can pay you, and then handing you off to the manager app(s) for what you're actually selling — tickets in Box Office Manager, physical products in Record Store Manager.

If you visit seller.splinge.com signed out, you'll see a marketing landing page with Log in and Create a Seller Account buttons rather than the app itself.

2. Signing In & Access Requirements

There's no local login form — Log in and Create a Seller Account both route you through login.splinge.com, which sends you back to Seller once you've authenticated. Any Splinge account can become a seller; there's no separate prerequisite profile step (unlike Band Manager, which requires an activated Musician profile first).

Once signed in, the app shows you exactly one of five screens based on where you are in the setup process — described in the sections below. You always land on whichever one is next; there's no way to skip ahead or see a screen for a step you haven't reached.

3. Becoming a Seller

3.1 Creating a Seller Account

If your account has never applied to sell before, you'll see Start selling on Splinge:

  1. Tick I agree to the Splinge Seller Terms of Service (opens in a new tab).

  2. Click Create Seller Account.

This sends a 6-digit activation code to your email and moves you to the confirmation step.

3.2 Confirming Your Email

Check your email shows next, asking for the 6-digit code:

  • Enter the code and click Verify Code. Codes expire after 5 minutes — if yours has lapsed, click Resend code to get a new one.

  • Once verified, you're moved straight into Stripe setup.

This step updates in real time — if you confirm the code in another tab or device, the page you're on picks up the change automatically without needing a refresh.

4. Connecting with Stripe

4.1 Starting Stripe Onboarding

Connect your bank account appears once your seller role is active but Stripe isn't connected yet. Clicking Set up payments with Stripe takes you to stripe.splinge.com, a separate app dedicated to Stripe Connect:

  1. Choose your country from the dropdown.

  2. Tick agreement to the Splinge Seller Terms and Stripe processing your information.

  3. Click Continue — this sends a second 6-digit confirmation code to your email (a separate code from the one that activated your Seller role in §3.2; it exists to reconfirm your email right before a Stripe account is created).

  4. Enter the code and click Connect with Stripe. This creates your Splinge seller record and a Stripe Express account, then redirects you to Stripe's own hosted onboarding.

4.2 Completing Verification on Stripe's Site

From here you're on Stripe's own pages, not Splinge's — providing identity details, business information, and bank account details as Stripe's flow requires for your country and account type. This is Stripe's standard Express onboarding; requirements vary by country and seller type.

When you finish, Stripe redirects you to a Details submitted confirmation page, which automatically returns you to Seller after a few seconds (or click Continue now).

4.3 If a Stripe Session Expires Mid-Onboarding

If you navigate away or your Stripe session times out before finishing, Stripe sends you to a refresh page instead of return — this happens transparently: a fresh onboarding link is requested and you're forwarded straight back into Stripe to continue from where you left off. You don't need to do anything differently.

4.4 Waiting on Stripe Verification

After submitting your details, Stripe still has to verify them — this isn't instant. Until it's done, opening Seller shows Stripe verification in progress:

  • Check status re-checks whether Stripe has finished — do this any time you think verification may have completed.

  • Continue in Stripe opens Stripe's Express account portal in a new tab, where Stripe will show you if it needs more information or documents from you.

Once Stripe reports your account as enabled, this page automatically moves you on to the Apps tab — there's nothing to click to "finish."

5. Seller Tools: The Apps Tab

Once your Seller role is active and Stripe is fully connected, Seller shows you the Apps tab with two launch cards:

App

What it's for

Box Office Manager

Create and manage events, ticket tiers, sales and attendance

Record Store Manager

List music and merchandise, manage inventory and orders

Click Open on either to be signed into that app directly — no separate login needed. See §9 for which seller types can open which app.

6. My Seller Profile

The second tab, alongside Apps, is My Seller Profile — your business details, separate from the Seller-role/Stripe status covered above. This information doesn't gate access to the manager apps; it's your business record on file.

Click Set up (or Edit, once you have a profile) to open the form:

Click Save. Your seller type and name display as a chip summary on the tab, with an Active chip once your account is fully set up.

7. Store Website

Below your Seller Profile is Store Website — a public storefront page for your business, built on Splinge CMS.

  • If you haven't set a nametag on your Splinge profile yet, you'll be prompted to do that first (profile.splinge.com) — your store's address is based on it.

  • Once you have a nametag, click Store Website to provision the site — this creates a CMS site and a blank Home page for you, then takes you into cms.splinge.com to build it.

  • Once created, your store is live at web.splinge.com/store/<your-nametag>, with a Manage Website button to jump back into CMS at any time.

8. Managing Stripe After Onboarding

Once you're fully set up, day-to-day Stripe access moves into whichever manager app you're using — both Record Store Manager and Box Office Manager have their own Stripe (or Payments) navigation item, which sends you back to stripe.splinge.com:

  • Stripe Dashboard — view earnings, manage payouts, review your Connect account.

  • Update Onboarding — revisit and re-complete Stripe verification steps if Stripe asks for more information later.

You don't need to return to seller.splinge.com for either of these once you've completed initial setup.

9. Which Seller Types Can Access What

  • Box Office Manager is open to every seller type, once your Seller role and Stripe are both set up.

  • Record Store Manager is restricted to Band/Artist, Manager, Label, and Retail Seller types. If you're registered as Venue or Promoter/Touring Co. and open Record Store Manager, you'll see an Access Denied screen explaining your seller type doesn't have access.

This is separate from the seller-type field described in §6 — Record Store Manager checks the value on your seller record directly.

10. Known Limitations

  • You may be asked for an email code twice. Activating your Seller role (§3.2) and starting Stripe onboarding (§4.1) each send their own separate 6-digit code — this is expected, not a bug, but it can be surprising if you're not expecting a second one.

  • Filling in "My Seller Profile" isn't required to reach the Apps tab. Access depends only on your Seller role being activated and Stripe being fully connected — the business-details form in §6 is informational and can be completed (or left blank) independently.

  • Record Store Manager isn't open to every seller type — see §9. If you registered as Venue or Promoter and need Record Store access too, you'd need to change your seller type in your profile.

  • Stripe verification timing is out of Splinge's hands. The "Stripe verification in progress" screen only updates when you click Check status or reopen the page — there's no push notification when Stripe finishes reviewing your account.

11. Tips & Troubleshooting

I keep getting sent back to seller.splinge.com from Record Store Manager or Box Office Manager

Both manager apps check that your Seller role is active and Stripe is fully connected before letting you in — if either isn't done yet, you're redirected back to Seller to finish setup. Complete whichever step Seller shows you (see §3 and §4) and you'll be let through.

My activation code says it's expired

Codes expire 5 minutes after being sent. Click Resend code on the confirmation screen for a new one.

I finished the Stripe form but Seller still shows "verification in progress"

This is expected — Stripe reviews submitted details after you finish the form, it isn't instant. Click Check status to re-check, or Continue in Stripe to see if Stripe is asking you for anything further.

I can't reach Record Store Manager even though Box Office Manager works fine

Check your seller type in My Seller Profile (§6) — Record Store Manager is limited to Band/Artist, Manager, Label, and Retail Seller. Venue and Promoter accounts can use Box Office Manager only.

I want to create a store website but the button isn't there

You need a nametag set on your Splinge profile first — go to profile.splinge.com to set one, then return to the Store Website section.
