This document covers the Musician Profile section of the Splinge Profile app — how to register as a musician, build your public musician profile, and manage band invitations. Profile hosts several other role sections (Seller, Venue Manager, Manager, Promoter, Label) side by side with Musician — this document only covers Musician. For running a band's own profile (discography, gallery, members, posts), see Splinge Band — User Documentation; a musician account is a prerequisite for that.

1. What Is Musician Profile?

Musician Profile is where individual musicians build their Splinge presence: a bio, instruments, stage names, discography, and media — separately from any band they play in. It's also where band invitations arrive and are accepted or declined, and where your band memberships (current and former) are listed. Other apps — Band Manager most notably — require an activated Musician profile before they'll let you in.

2. Signing In & Access Requirements

There's no local login form — visiting profile.splinge.com while signed out sends you to login.splinge.com and back once you've authenticated.

Before you can register as a musician, your My Profile basics must be complete — first name, last name, address line 1, city, and country (see §9). Until then, the Musician section shows an info banner linking to My Profile instead of the registration form.

3. Becoming a Musician

With My Profile complete, opening Musician Profile for the first time shows Become a Musician:

1. Tick I have read and accept the Terms of Musician Account (click the link to read the full terms in a dialog first — eligibility, accuracy of information, intellectual property, conduct, account activation, and changes to terms).

2. Click Become a Musician. This sends a 6-digit activation code to your account email.

3. Enter the code in the dialog that opens. Codes expire 5 minutes after being sent — a countdown shows how long you have left, and Resend code gets you a new one if it lapses.

4. Click Activate.

If you close the code dialog before entering a valid code, reopening Musician Profile shows an Activation required notice instead of starting you over — click Enter activation code to pick up where you left off, behind a preview of the profile editor you'll unlock once activated.

4. Setting Up Your Musician Profile

Once activated, if you haven't filled in your musician details yet you'll see No musician profile yet — click "Set up". The same dialog (titled Edit thereafter) covers:

Click Save. Once a musician profile exists, the page shows four tabs: Profile, Bands & Acts, Discography, Media.

5. Profile Tab

A read-only summary of your bio, stage names, and instruments (each as chips), plus a Band memberships list showing every band you belong to with an Active/Former chip per band. This is the same data as the Bands & Acts tab, condensed — edit any of it via the Edit button at the top of the page (§4).

6. Bands & Acts Tab

Pending Invitations appear at the top if any band manager has invited you to join their band, each showing the band name and the instruments they've requested from you:

• Accept — joins you to the band immediately (shown right away, with the full record following shortly after from the server).

• Decline — removes the invitation with no further action.

Below that, your memberships — every band you've accepted, each showing its instruments, an Active/Former status chip, and the date range of your most recent tenure (open-ended if still active).

7. Discography Tab

Click Add release to log a release you've contributed to:

Each entry gets Edit and Delete icons. This is your personal discography as a musician — separate from any band's own Discography tab in Band Manager.

8. Media Tab

Click Upload media to add images, videos, or audio files (multiple at once). Each item displays as an image; if it can't render as one, it falls back to a video/audio player automatically. Every item has a Remove button — there's no separate edit, so replacing a file means removing it and uploading again.

10. Known Limitations

• There's no self-service way to leave a band from Musician Profile. The Bands & Acts tab shows your memberships and lets you respond to invitations, but ending an active tenure is only available from Band Manager (by the band's owner, or by you from within that app — see Splinge Band — User Documentation).

• Accepting an invitation shows the band immediately from the invitation data itself, before the server confirms the full membership record — in the rare case the two disagree, the page corrects itself moments later without any action needed from you.

• Media items can't be edited or reordered, only added or removed.

11. Tips & Troubleshooting

I can't find the "Become a Musician" button

Check My Profile first — first name, last name, address line 1, city, and country must all be filled in before Musician Profile will let you register.

My activation code expired before I entered it

Click Resend code in the activation dialog (or Enter activation code if you'd already closed it) for a fresh one — each code is valid for 5 minutes.

I registered but the page still shows "Activation required"

Your role registration went through, but the account isn't activated until you enter the code from the email. Click Enter activation code to pick the process back up.

I accepted a band invitation but it's not showing correctly

Give it a moment — accepted invitations show immediately from local data while the confirmed record loads from the server in the background.

I want to end my time in a band

This isn't available from Musician Profile — it's handled in Band Manager, either by you or by the band's owner.
