Band

1. What Is Band Manager?

Band Manager is where musicians create, claim, and run a band's Splinge presence: profile details, discography, a media gallery, membership and invitations, and posts to Splinge's social feed. It also links out to the CMS app for building the band's public website.

Band Manager requires a verified Splinge Musician account — see §2.

2. Signing In & Access Requirements

Band Manager doesn’t have its own login form — visiting https://band.splinge.com while signed out sends you to app.splinge.com/login, and you’re brought back automatically once you sign in.

Once signed in, the app checks that you have an activated Musician profile. If you don’t, you’ll see a full-screen message — “Musician account required” — explaining that Band Manager is only available to verified Splinge musicians, with a “Go to Musician Profile” button that takes you to profile.splinge.com/musician to complete that step first. 3. Getting Around

The left-hand navigation (a slide-out drawer on mobile) lists:

• Bands — the bands list (§4)

• Bulk Import — CSV import (§11)

• Launch CMS — opens cms.splinge.com in a new tab, signed in as you, to build the band’s public website. This is a separate app; nothing about the website itself is edited inside Band Manager.

Your avatar in the top-right corner opens a menu with your email, Edit Profile (takes you to profile.splinge.com), and Logout.

If you arrived at Band Manager from another Splinge app (for example, a band picker embedded in another manager tool), a Back button appears in the top bar, and actions like Cancel/Save/Delete will return you there instead of navigating within Band Manager.

4. The Bands List

Go to Bands. Toggle between:

• My Bands — bands where you’re the registered owner or manager.

• All Bands — every band registered on Splinge, with a name search box; results load 24 at a time via “Show more”.

Each band is shown as a card with its image, name, and “Since: year founded”, plus status chips:

Cards you don’t own or manage aren’t clickable — you can browse them but not open them. Orphan bands, and bands with a manager but no owner, show a “Claim this band” button (see §5.2).

5. Creating or Claiming a Band

5.1 Creating a New Band

From the Bands list, click New Band.

1. Choose Your role: Owner, Manager, or Register only (orphan). Choosing orphan shows a note that the band will be registered without an owner or manager and can be claimed later — useful for registering a band on someone else’s behalf.

2. If you chose Owner or Manager, accept the Band Manager Agreement (opens in a dialog).

5.2 Claiming an Orphan Band

Click Claim this band on any orphan or manager-only card in the All Bands view:

5. Choose your role: Owner or Manager.

6. Optionally set a Bandtag (@@handle). This is your one opportunity to set it — it cannot be changed after claiming. Letters, numbers, and underscores only; you’ll be told if it’s already taken.

7. Tick “I agree to the Band Manager Agreement and confirm I have the right to claim this band.”

8. Click Claim Band.

You don’t have to set a bandtag at claim time — see §6 for setting one afterward.

6. Inside a Band: Overview & Editing

Open a band you own or manage to reach five tabs: Overview, Discography, Gallery, Members, Posts.

Overview shows:

• The band’s image — if you’re the owner, a button lets you set or change it (uploads immediately), with a Remove option once one’s set.

• A “Founded <date>” chip, and an @bandtag chip if one’s set. If you’re the owner and no bandtag exists yet, a Set bandtag button lets you set one — same one-time, permanent rule as claiming.

• A plain summary: Band Name, Bandtag, Founded date, Members, Releases, Gallery Items.

The band’s header also has Edit and Delete buttons for the owner. Edit opens the same form as band creation (Band Name, Start Date, Genre, Sub-genre) pre-filled — there’s no role or agreement step here, only at creation/claim time. Delete asks you to confirm — this cannot be undone.

Important: the edit/management controls throughout this app (Edit, Delete, image upload, setting the bandtag, and every owner-only control on the Discography, Gallery, Members, and Posts tabs) are currently gated to whoever originally created the band. If you claimed a band with the Manager role rather than Owner, you may find you can open the band but not see any of its management controls. If you need full editing rights, claim or register as Owner. See §13.

7. Discography

Owners can click Add Release to add an entry:

Releases are listed newest-first, each with an Edit and Delete icon for the owner. Deleting asks for confirmation first.

8. Gallery

Owners can click Add Media to add an item. There’s no separate edit — to change a caption or file, delete the item and re-add it.

9. Choose the Media Type: Image, Video, or Link.

10. For Image or Video, choose Upload File or External URL.

11. Add an optional Caption.

12. Click Add Media.

Images preview inline, videos get an inline player, and links show as a card with a truncated clickable URL. The owner gets a Delete icon on every item, with a confirmation prompt.

9. Members

Shows Current Members and Former Members, each with instruments and a tenure date range (open-ended if still active).

Inviting a musician (owner only): click Invite Musician, then:

Click Send Invitation. This creates a pending request — it doesn’t add them as a member right away. A Pending Invitations section lists outstanding invites, with a Cancel button for the owner to withdraw one.

Per-member actions (owner, or the member themself for the tenure actions):

• Owner only: Edit instruments (a single comma-separated field), or Remove the member — removal is a soft action, so their membership history is preserved, not erased.

• Owner or the member: end an active tenure (marks today as their leave date), or Add tenure to record a rejoin or backfill a historical period (Date Joined required, Date Left optional).

10. Posts

The Posts tab publishes updates to Splinge’s social feed under the band’s name — this posts into the same system as Connect, not something local to Band Manager. Owner-only, with Posts and Lists sub-tabs.

Creating a post — click New post:

Click Post. Each post shows its visibility, an “(edited)” flag if applicable, and any media inline (images render directly; other links are clickable). The owner can delete any post. Anyone signed in can open the comment panel to read and add comments (500-character limit) — the owner can delete any comment to moderate, while other commenters can only delete their own.

Audience Lists (Lists sub-tab, owner only) — build named recipient lists for “Select list” posts:

13. Enter a name and click Create list.

14. Expand a list to add members by their @nametag — each is resolved and added, or you’ll see “User not found or already in list.”

15. Rename or delete a list, or remove individual members, at any time.

11. Bulk Importing Bands

Bulk Import in the side navigation, for registering many bands at once.

16. Click Download CSV template — columns are Name, Start Date, Preferred Bandtag, Image, Website Slug. Only Name is required per row.

17. Fill in the CSV and click Choose CSV file.

18. Review the preview table, then click Import N bands.

Results show, per band: whether it was Created or Failed, whether its bandtag was Set or hit a Conflict (created without one — you’ll need to set it manually afterward), and the CMS website slug (web.splinge.com/<slug>) that was provisioned for it. There’s no owner/manager choice in the bulk import form — imported bands are registered unclaimed, ready to be claimed individually via §5.2.

12. Your Account

Click your avatar (top right) for:

• Edit Profile — takes you to profile.splinge.com to update your name, contact details, and photo

• Logout

13. Known Limitations

• Manager-claimed bands may not show management controls. Editing rights inside a band (Edit/Delete band, image upload, setting the bandtag, and every owner-only action on Discography/Gallery/Members/Posts) are currently tied to who originally created the band, not to the Owner/Manager status shown on the Bands list. If you need to be sure you’ll get full editing rights, claim or register as Owner rather than Manager.

• Gallery items can’t be edited, only added or deleted — to fix a caption or swap a file, delete the item and add it again.

• Bulk import doesn’t offer an owner/manager choice — imported bands land as unclaimed and must be claimed one at a time afterward.

• Bandtags are permanent once set, whether at creation, at claim time, or afterward from the Overview tab — there’s no way to change one later.

14. Tips & Troubleshooting

I got sent to “Musician account required” instead of the Bands list

You need an activated Musician profile before Band Manager will let you in. Click Go to Musician Profile and complete that setup first.

I claimed a band as Manager but can’t see any edit options

This is a known inconsistency — see §13. Claim or re-register the band as Owner if you need to edit its details, discography, gallery, members, or posts.

I can’t rename a gallery caption

Gallery items can only be added or deleted, not edited — delete the item and add it again with the caption you want.

My bandtag claim failed with “already taken”

Someone else has that handle — pick another. Remember it’s permanent once set, so choose carefully.

My CSV import created bands but some show a bandtag conflict

Their preferred bandtag was already in use, so they were created without one. Open each affected band from the Bands list and set a bandtag manually from its Overview tab.

I can’t find where to accept or decline a band invitation I received

This flow is not currently reachable from within Band Manager — check with support if you’re expecting an invitation and can’t find a way to respond to it.
